So I asked my Hon if he wanted to help me – His reply, “Why do women always ask a loaded question?” Ah, he’s on to me after so many years:) Anyway, I wondered if he could wash the chrome legs on the kitchen table and chairs. Kind of felt it would be too much but he was sitting there doing nothing and it bothers me.

It was too much.

So later, I started washing them and he walked into the kitchen,”When I’m retired I’ll be able to do all those things for you.”

Thanked him – leaving the room before he could see my tears – to myself: “You closed your notebook many moons ago, Hon, for a well deserved rest.”
