Still working, I rushed home at 5:30pm for a friend’s 7pm retirement dinner. As I opened the back entry door, he greeted me showered and ready! I’ll never forget his image. He stood there smiling in sparkling white shirt, sleeves rolled, open neck with tie draped – suit and shoes, soxs and belt all nicely put together.
He looked so sexy and handsome, content and capable. He’s mine, I have him back! The diagnosis was wrong! Look at him! Wrong, wrong, wrong.
I hugged him and said I’d quickly shower. “No rush, church isn’t til 7″.
And it crumbled around me.

Yesterday our neighbor asked for a ride to the market. She knows it’s actually an outing for me free of worry.
Anyway, we roared around to several stores and then chimed in unison, “We forgot to buy squash!”
Harvest bins were set out with the most amazing squash – all small to medium instead of the size of my leg – well, I exaggerate a wee bit. Anyway, as I chose various squash, W would set about every second one back. After several times I realized.
Made for a fun day and yum, we will have squash “hidden” in many dishes and he will praise my (squash) cooking. Gotta love that.
