Yesterday was absolutely grueling. Have to preface it by saying I have no stamina compared to W – and he’s 4 years older!
Anyway, we worked on our wood – he chopped, I stacked. I cut 3 lawns and changed our bed and remade it. Washed several more loads and put them away.
We came in about 5:30pm and I heated every leftover in the fridge! Too tired to cook. At 7pm I had to go to bed and slept til 8:30am! So the big baby (me) slept thru the night.
He still had boundless energy – I asked him “how”!! He feels it’s because he was so athletic all his life til recently. Maybe. Wish some would rub off on Mama!!!
Anyway, the wood is all stacked in the outdoor workshop – bring on winter, Baby.
My goodness! that was a busy day. Sometimes I cannot sleep well after a lot of physical activity, even if I am tired. We replaced our wood fireplace with a gas fireplace. I miss the smell of wood burning.
Hi Ruth – probably will only be in this place a couple more years dep. how things progress. So I bought more wood as he loves the wood stove.
I’m going to buy an electric FP for the family room to slowly get him used to the idea.
I love your winter wood saga. As the Beatles once sang: Lalalala life goes on.
I know several people who heat their house the same way. As the years pass, they comment on how much heavier the wood gets and how much longer it takes to get it ready! We love our gas fireplace.
