We picked HRH (aka buddy) up from the villa today. W was upset with his being away too long.
Anyway, I haven’t seen W laugh so hard as today – we bring the cat into the house and toss a play mouse to him – he spun out on the laminate, tried to screech to a halt, tail in air like a Hallowe’en cat! What is this new fangled stuff on the floors? Once he got the hang of it, he chased mice which sailed across the laminate like crazy.

Just as the guys were moving the sideboard into place, my bridesmaid called. She and her husband are in town for a couple days. We haven’t seen them for about 20 years! Warned them we have a kitchen table only set up – hope W remembers her. It’s always difficult for him and the guests if he doesn’t.

Work starts again on Monday and HRH will have to go back in – it’s too noisy with hammering, etc.The guys are putting new doors down stairs and a new entry door, building a closet for our patio stuff, there are 2 sets of steps in the sunken LR and they had to order a custom nosing for the steps. That may have arrived to be installed, also.

Once all that is completed, we start on the bedrooms. Thank goodness the paint is recent so it’s “just” move the furniture to put the flooring down. Yikes, I forgot I have to choose carpet for the living room and stairs going down. That will be a different installer so I better get looking at colors.

Want to look around for new bedding sets once it’s all over.

I will never paint or redo anything again – it’s pretty intense. If we sell and want to redo a new place, it will be before we move in!

Gave our Hammond organ to one of the laminate guys – he loves my old piano but I said I’m keeping it. There was a prolonged groan from W when the guy asked if I wanted it moved to the living room. When we bought it, W said to decide where it goes “cause it’s staying there!” Just a tad heavy.

Anyway, these 2 fellows doing the renovations are strong as can be. I emptied the fridge to move it downstairs and forgot the freezer compartment. Phoned them from town apologizing – they said they didn’t realize there was anything in it. Good grief, it even had a small turkey!

Good night for now.
