For a bit I felt he had breathing/heart failure issues but our MD assured me all is well. Every night he goes to bed with 3 pillows under him – his poor neck and chin! Occasionally, he has the 3 pillows vertically under him from waist to head.
I walk in and suggest we remove the one – with hesitation he allows it. Then the other 2 are bolt upright – looks so uncomfortable. So I suggest we set them a bit flatter – he hesitates, saying he’ll hit the head board without lots of pillows.
After much ado, I finally get him to scoot his bottom down – he always scoots “up” toward the wall – no wonder he hits his head. Think it’s the not processing “up/down” and “left/right” thing.
Anyway, have to say he is humorous throughout the drawn out process of getting settled. Usually I have to pat his butt and say to move down toward my hand – success! He always laughs as we go thru this every night.
My parting words are always along the line – “That feels better, right?” With a grin and familiar laugh, he says, “Oh, yeah.” I know it means no. Anyone who know him will hear that “oh, yeah”.
