For several weeks (yes, weeks), I have been trying to get W and I to the medical lab for our blood tests. A couple thoughts come to mind: blood from a rock, stubborn as a mule, etc. I am not making light of our situation but it’s the way it is.
Anyway, I couldn’t win on the bathing today so compromised. “Only this time, we will have a sponge bath this morn and your shower tonight”.
Hope this idea helps if anyone else is in a similar situation – not ideal but better than nothing. I didn’t win but I didn’t lose?? I guess it was a draw.
Just got email from a friend – she is so upset as her friend committed suicide 2 days ago. The lady has a husband, 3 children and grandchildren.
Some days seem a bit more difficult than others but we truly are fortunate – we have each other.
As it seems with many cases, there were no warning signs. Everyone is in deep grief wondering if they could have prevented this.
Sorry to lay a heavy on in a post but it really made me think.
I promised pics of our tree and circle but fate intervened. The extension cord I just rolled up neatly is AWOL and my laptop is “not connected to any – - -” Luckily I can just laugh about it or I’d cry. Without my laptop, I can’t post pics so will when able. The fellow who fixed our computer (unplugged/replugged router!) is coming again tomorrow. He sent a bill to the incorrect address so I think he jinxed me! Was teasing him that if he wanted his money he didn’t need to “corrupt” my computer from afar – I really would have mailed a cheque.
Life goes on and it’s never dull – - -
I’m having more fits doing without the laptop than the fact it’s needing “something” again. Is that called being hooked?
I have not been out on my own in so long that I don’t remember the last time. Didn’t sleep last night – I was so excited. That sounds weird for an adult but it’s true.
Actually, didn’t realize how much I set up for him for a meal or to start his day til I had to tell Shirl. Skipped the hygiene wash/brush type stuff which I helped him with later.
My list was written in order of where the stores are to get the most bang for my buck – no, wait, they got the bang from my buck. That was sick humor. Anyway, lots was accomplished and I boosted the local economy.
Kept phoning to check if all was well but the ringer was off as was her cell, mmhhh:) I arrived home at 1:30pm, 15 minutes after he had got up.
Shirl said he came down the hall in his shorts and t-shirt to ask if his clothes were OK – then realized she was there – not I. She assured him he was OK and he finished dressing.
*****This has never happened before to me – he never asks about his clothes let alone coming out to the kitchen half dressed. So now I’m concerned I shouldn’t have gone. Shirl’s a retired nurse so nothing phases her but is it another step on the slidy slope? Any ideas and please do not think I would be offended with your comments.
Thank you for your encouraging comments re: my “getting out shopping” post.
I shoveled yesterday morn and was so happy it finally quit snowing – for all of 12 hours! Tonight when I announced I was going out to shovel, a big black cloud formed over his head. “There’s no use shoveling, it’s just going to snow again.” (Yes, my dear one, for about 3 more months.) I thought that, didn’t say it!
Anyway, he was very annoyed – one good thing is that he really gets the job done quickly, ha! Our dear neighbors, Rob and Brenda arrived midway. They had Bond, their dog with them. That took his mind off the situation. I swear sometime that Someone helps out. Uh, speaking of helping, could You stop the snow?
We have a large drive and when 1/2 was done, he wanted to quit. I insisted we finish it – to say the least I was not popular. He was right – buckets keep falling and it’s all covered in several inches again. Only 3 months to go – sigh -
