For some reason, the car is causing problems for my W.
When we left for the airport, Brian jumped in the back seat and I expected W to get in the front. He probably couldn’t see Brian was in the right seat so tried to open that door. Before we could help, he walked around to the left back seat – ready to jump in.
I maybe should have just let him but got out and helped him sit up front. I guess I could have ignored it but felt so sorry for Brian – a rough visit.
This jumping in the backseat has happened a couple other times when we are alone. When I tell him to come on up front, he happily says, “ok.” Not important but I’m wondering “why”. If I could just let it go and not have to know “why”.
Nice ending to the evening, though. We just parked at the drop off and Brian grabbed his bag. I said to W. “Let’s just give him another hug goodbye.” He asked if he should get out, too. “Yes, give him a hug.”
They embraced for a long time and he thanked him for flying out and for the visit, etc. Very happy for Brian – sending him off remembering a positive experience.
After reading the paper, he carefully folded it then looked up at me.
I commented, “Not much in the paper today, Hon.”
He reached for the paper, “I don’t know, I haven’t read it yet.”
