Years ago he bought wonderful wall – mounted brass lamps for our bedroom. Every night he waits til I finish brushing, etc. and as I crawl in to bed he asks,”Ready?” I answer I am and he turns the light out.
Last night same routine but when I said “yes” he couldn’t find the switch. Leaned forward and was pulling electrical cords and getting slightly frustrated.
I jumped out of bed and told him it’s “easier” if I turn the lights out.
“Thank you, Honey.”
I am glad to be writing this journal because I would never remember any of the slip slidy things. Each small thing is part of a composite. A mosaic telling a story – our story.
I am so glad that you are posting these every day occurrences. Thank you for letting us in on your world and what you are facing each day.
Please know that you are in my thoughts every day, Jean.
Jean, what you are doing is providing an invaluable serive for others who may be going through this too – or will in the future. I am dealing with my husband’s short term memory loss (after a stroke) and it is both perplexing and infuriating. You are dealing with it beautifully!
You ARE dealing with this beautifully, Jean. I can imagine how hard it is to accept.
Your journal is priceless.
“… the slip slidy things…”
I am glad you are recording these, too, Jean. This blog is valuable, on so many levels. For me, personally, it helps me remember, it helps me understand what lies behind, and prepare for what may come in the future. And you provide me with an outstanding example of courage. Thank you!
