I look at his head – are You there? I worry what tomorrow will bring. I want you with me forever but I suppose that is a dream hitched to a faraway star.
Tonight I called to him – he was downstairs.

“Where are You, Hon?”

“I don’t know.”

“Are you lost?”

“Yes.”

“I’ll come get You. Stay where You are.”
He answers “Ok”

He’s in his office – lost.

Those sand grains slip away through our tightened fists so painfully. Don’t forget–God restores the years the locusts have eaten–It may not look like what you ever in a million years dreamed, but even in this, He is so close, you can feel His Breath of His Spirit on your neck if you pause to feel it.He will see you through. I love you dear friend. Hope you can get some sleep and tomorrow will be a better day. annie

Dylan Thomas wasn’t referring to Alzheimers’, but his words are appropriate, and sometimes the only response possible: “Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”

But, “I’ll come get you.” What reassuring words for him!

Oh Jean, you’ve given me my tears in the eyes for the morning. What a gifted writer you are as you share your experience. I vote again for a someday book.

I don’t have any eloquent words to write here. I am so sorry for the progression of this disease that you are seeing.

Thank you, All. I don’t mean to cause tears – there is so much to write about. Actually, I am doing very well under the circumstances but I doubt could recognize otherwise! Every day slowly merges into a subtle decline. I am very tough inside because I have to be.

Oh, I wish I had something to say that would help.
