Today W&I drove to town shopping for a special sympathy card. Somehow wordy ones don’t mean as much to me – I think we found the perfect one.
This Son leaves his parents and a sister in mourning. I sat on a bench in the mall and contemplated the situation. Something drew me back into the card shop (Ha**mark). There it was – a beautiful remembrance tree decoration. As I paid for it, thought it may be too difficult for them to hang this year or any year. I really intended to buy a crystal heart but there was not one to be found. We are not sending flowers but making a donation to their chosen charity.
I hope the remembrance gift touches their hearts in a good way and brings joyous memories of a son so loved – so loved by his many friends also.
Brian and I talked 3 times last night – I know he needed to talk. I did tell W of the death but he does not remember the friend.
Today at the mall W was very quiet so I think he realized what we were doing.
In the blink of an eye, one can be gone. Give lots of extra hugs today!
(I hung the little dove ornament on our tree to show it.) It is inscribed on one side:”Always Remembered” and on the reverse: “Peace and love in every memory” The dove has a tiny heart hanging from her beak on a gold chain.
