We (meaning I) went looking for area rugs again. For persons trying to make a sale, I would suggest you don’t give my Man “the look”. I realize he doesn’t know up from down sometimes and today was topsy turvy but my money is still good!!!
I found a wonderful Belgium rug – only $1400. – gulp. The colors were perfect and when I asked W’s opinion, he offered up something along the lines that didn’t we just put new floors in??? Explained that we did but this is to go over the new floor.
The look of disdain (on the salesman’s face) really turned me off – when M&M come, I may go back with them to see it. The store allows a 24 hour period with the new rug at home to see if it fits. I pity the guy if he tosses any looks at Dad when Mark is there. Mark would not say much to the person but maybe something along the lines, “We’ll just deal with someone else for this one.”
Anyway, we still have Saturday to shop and I may actually go back and get it on trial.
A new rug changes the look of everything. Whenever I had one, I look at it often and smile
)
Go for the trial! That sounds like a good deal to me. W might love it, too.
I couldn’t believe how much less tired my legs felt after we got a rug for our floor.Doesn’t it gall you when sales clerks act like it is so out of the job description to be nice and helpful! Maybe Mark can talk some sense into her, if you go back. love, annie
If you go back for the trial, ask for a new salesperson. That one doesn’t deserve the sale.
Interesting – I didn’t think of asking for a new salesperson. They work on commission and I thought I was “stuck” with this guy. Interesting point about the tired legs – didn’t think of that.And Mary, that $2400 one was sold. Thank heaven. It was sooooooooo gorgeous.
