My Man is the best bluffer in the world – wonder if he were a poker player at one time – just kidding. He told me to get thru his days at work, “he had a system.”
If anyone of you bloggers came to visit, he would “fool” you and you would probably doubt how bad his decline is. He’s very polite, calm, takes part in a conversation. He can do this so well as long as he is not (1) asked about something, (2) asked to do/get (3)asked where something is, etc.
Chef just called and I marveled listening to the conversation – I could only hear Dad – he sounded so normal. When I got on the phone with Chef, I heard the conversation was not all that normal.
At Christmas, he did so well except for a few times: once he asked where I was – in your bedroom. He happily headed to the laundry room. (Eye opener for that family member) Someone always kept an eye on him – he had a problem finding the dining room table for Christmas dinner – family is great and just casually mention the table and he follows.
This disease should be outlawed.
Last night, it’s 11 pm and we are ready to go up to bed. He hesitated, cat in his arms, heading the wrong direction. “I guess this is the way.”
Knew from the questioning tone in his voice, he was asking for help.
Hopefully I’ll never embarrass him – I’m honored he feels Ok to ask.
(Reminds me of a flight leaving Halifax – he leaned over to me and whispered something to the effect asking if we were landing in Halifax soon.Sept.2004)
