No, it’s not what we had for dinner, although – - -

Our MD moved from a commercial office to a private, single unit home in a residential area – threw the Man right off til he heard the receptionist mention Doc’s name on the phone.

“Where are we?”

“At our doctor’s office.”

“Why? Not me.”

I called his bluff – told him Doc wouldn’t be paid to write the prescriptions for him unless he agreed to go in the op. (Which is true) He seemed to mull this over. Decided he didn’t want the Rx’s. I pretended to not care and said, “Ok, but you are doing so well with your Aricept.”

He relented. Gets in there and all happy with Doc (thank goodness). “You don’t mind my taking your BP, do you?” Smiley, smiley. “Let’s just check that toenail.” Smiley, smiley.

Then he injected my tennis (snow shoveling) elbow – smiley, smiley.

Ingenuity, humor, his smile, and a little help from your friends. This post says it all–your life and your resiliency.

Thank you, Doc. Life is made much easier with the help of good people- yesterday I looked our doctor in the eye and said the man was here for Rx’s only – he got the message (that W was not happy) and carried on doing BP and checking his feet.

With my mother, I learned to never argue reality. I could see you already do this. If my mom asked if I could spend the night with her, I would ask her if she would like that? Of course she’d say yes. So, I would nod and she would forget it when I started to leave the nursing home.

You’re quite clever,Jean. I think you could talk an eskimo into a popsicle. And the best part, no fight, and he still has his dignity. You teach me so much. love, annie

Oh, and so sorry about your arm injury==that is the devil of pain. Try rotating ice and heat. And a couple of Advil or anti=inflammatory pain med. No sense in telling you to rest, I have a feeling. :) annie
