The rainbow on my sidebar reminded me of what my brother once wrote to me about 35 years ago. “It takes both the sun and the rain to make a beautiful rainbow.” Still have the little corner I tore off from the letter he wrote.

Some days a person has to recall things like this.

Yesterday the guys hung the other door – our family room is now closed off from the rest of the rooms. So now he has “no where to get lost” down here as he’s in one big room. The door is “after ” the stairs so he stays down here or goes up. Why I didn’t think of this years ago is beyond me.

Tomorrow the guy is coming at 7am to do the taping – then carpenters will finish odds and ends. Man, is it ever expensive to pay for labor! Used to have my own private (free) laborer:)

Got to pick tile for the bath floors and I think we are seeing light. Come spring, there’s work to do outside on the decks – spring is only 6 weeks away – in my dreams.

Hope everyone had a good Friday – when you’re still working Friday can be nothing but good, right?

For 42 plus years we have ended our “good nights” cuddled up like spoons – I called it my f*x. Being he is such a furnace, it only would last a couple minutes but was my comfort to end the day.

A couple nights ago he gently took my wrist in his hand and set it beside him.

His tone apologetic, “I don’t like that.”
