Mercy, what a day. Painter/floor base board irritator was here. He does good work but tries to slip one by me occasionally. I don’t operate like that so I literally followed him around like a pest all day. He also does not think and I walked into a bedroom and his silicone or caulking gun was resting on an area run with a drip of “product” attached to my rug. See Mama get fired up. His response, “No problem, piece of cake.”

Then Buddy, the cat, and my man were very unhappy to be confined to an area behind doors (which I paid rather big money) for this very purpose! Grrr! I played revolving doors all day til I was ready to put them both in the Cat Motel.

We had cold cereal for midmorn and a sandwich once I realized it was way past lunch and close to dinner. We are sitting here by the fire trying to unwind – well, he’s unwound – nothing really bugs him except my “persecuting” his cat!

BTW, our younger son, Brian, was born at 12:40pm 38 years ago today. He is such a soft and gentle soul.

The guy finishes up tomorrow.

There’s no way to do a household project successfully without micromanagement. Was that your job prior to W’s troubles? My husband hounds workmen to death; it’s a wonder they don’t walk off job. If it were up to me, we’d be paint besplattered and caulk besmirched.

It does take a toll on disposition though. I’d almost rather live with the old than bear my spouse’s ire over workmen.

I know you’ll be relieved when the work is done and you can get back to a semblance of normalcy, whatever that is.

    Happy birthday to Brian.

Beverly, our guest room upstairs is now normal! Finally – looks good so it was worth all the nagging of the workers. I’m 63 and they are 28 & 40. I felt like their Mom and told them I’d be on them like a hawk!
