Stacey made a comment about “angels disguised as workers” – these 2 fellows are so precious to me. I met the one as a patient so have known him for 15 years. Back in 2003 when our world was crumbling, we bought 2 computer desks from Cost*o. I asked him if he knew anyone who assembled (as W could no longer do this type thing). He answered, “Yes, me.” Spent a bit of time putting 2 desks together and refused money. I finally got him to take $100. under protest. Little did I know he was a reno man.
He and his partner are absolute gems. They greet W with a big hello and after the day is done, include him by telling all the stuff they did. They shoveled my snow, did small jobs here which they asked I not tell people about as they prefer to go in and do big projects and get out.
They share theirs family joys and frustrations and I listen – well, I am Grand*a Jean! Today I fed them homemade veg soup – they loved it. I love them dearly and highly recommend them.
While at our house for 2 days, they picked up 4 jobs in our neighborhood.
Work inside is complete – they got done at 4pm today. It’s been rough on the man but I’m sure happy I persevered. Was going to tile the baths (floors) but want to think about that.
When the snow is gone, we will start working on the decks.
Tonight I started putting dresser drawers back and hanging clothes. Been a long day with a poor sleep last night, so night all and will post tomorrow.
