As I sort through our house and declutter, his writing jumps out at me. One doesn’t cherish or need to cherish something so simple as a grocery note, etc. til you realize there will never be another one written.

Over the years, I have kept cards (and probably will always do that). So glad I have his messages of love to me.

When we were engaged, I spent a week apart from him – he wrote 2 letters. Found them recently – gold to me!

His signature always was only W and his surname – “blocky – type” letters. The last time he wrote his name (with great effort), his W was long and narrow, totally opposite from before.

I also found a stack of computer printouts he did from a new set up. Was going to toss them but couldn’t.

Anyway, I have a decorative box perfect for my treasures. Judy would be proud!

We received our War Amps key tags in the mail – I always put them on my key chains. This time I put them in his jacket pockets and one on his house keys. If he is ever lost, they can ID and find his home very quickly. (Thanks, WA, your cheque is in the mail.)

I registered him with the Alzheimer’s program which has his picture and personal info. coordinated with the RC*P. If an AD person is lost, you can have them bring up the pic, etc. for search help.

They also provided a bracelet which he won’t wear. Tried zipping it into his coat and he removed it.

“He doesn’t have a problem.”

So, in order to get my guy to eat a decent amount of food (no problem with wifey), I served up hot roast beef sandwiches, homemade fries and coleslaw.

He ate the whole amount and about an hour later, had a large orange!

We try to eat nutritious meals, little meat, fat, etc. but every so often, a good roast beef meal calls!

Monday night we will feast on the leftover roast, mashed potatoes and vegs and salad!

(Will post the delicious roast beef recipe on the recipe site – it has become a favorite,)
