Getting a wee bit nervous about the “happenings” this past week.

As we talked during dinner tonight, he had difficulty expressing what he meant. I mentioned MiHwa and Mark – he commented, “Isn’t she on the other side of the water?” Took this to mean over in Korea (across the Pacific water). I guessed and guessed and he was a tad irritated and frustrated.

Finally, I realized he was thinking they were still on Vancouver Island, holidaying. Of course, there is water between Vancouver (mainland) and Victoria on the island. As soon as I mentioned Victoria and is that what you meant, he said yes. (He has never used that expression – “other side of the water” before)

I was thrown for a loop the other day as he couldn’t remember a family member when I mentioned the name. He kept shaking his head as if to clear it. It was like a losing game as I tossed out “hints” and ideas in relation to the person – finally he said he remembered – I’ll not know til the next time.

Anyway, that was the last straw for me mentally and I felt very empty. So far, we have been on a very slow, gradual decline but I felt several issues indicated otherwise now.

We bought Buddy a few weeks after he could no longer work. The house was too “empty” and I was still working.

He has been a real blessing as is more dog than cat in his interaction with my man. Most of the time he sits at his feet or, as in the picture, rests at his feet.

He senses changes and has become even more loving.
