I used to make a lot of my clothes in high school – one reason was I was so skinny (yep, good old days) that some retail stuff didn’t fit well.
Don’t know if tartan was in vogue then, but being a Mac Leod, it was in our house. In high school, when I babysat, I’d take my pattern and fabric to work on once the children were sleep. It would take a bit of thinking to make tartan slacks today in order to match the tartan pattern!
What brought this to mind is my man. He commented that I don’t sew stuff anymore. That’s true. He was always so generous to me – I could have anything I wanted. One day we walked into Se*rs and picked out a fridge, stove, washer, dryer, freezer and sewing machine. It was like Christmas all over.
So, with all our daily struggles, it’s nice to recall days past. He still thinks of me first – for example, will not start eating til I sit down. What a sweetie.
