You would have been 87 today, Dad. We thought of you all day and talked about our memories. I can barely look at this picture for expect you to say something – it’s so you.

Thanks for all the love and devotion to our family.

Will love and miss you forever.

No more computer for you, Madame. Shirl just called from Vancouver – they just left the hospital, heading home on a 5 hour drive. Hope she got good meds for the trip.

I’m off to the cat hotel to get their cat, deposit her home. They’ll call 1/2 hour from home and W&I will head back in with dinner for the 4 of us. Think I’ll pick up a cake at Safewa* – maybe that will boost her spirits – and mine.

That will give W something to do – help unload their van – crutches, walker, luggage, etc.

She has 6 steps to get to main floor so it will be good to have extra people around.

Have a great Saturday – it’s sunny here but cool.

BTW, she said this knee surgery was “easier” than the first – but they did the more urgent one last year.

It’s a cold, windy day with just a bit if sun. He got up about 1pm, coffee, ate and back in bed about 3pm.

Was teasing him that if he were bored, I could cure that. He laughed and said he wasn’t bored – then promptly headed off to bed.

So, now it’s 4:45pm and I’d like to wake him but to do what? He doesn’t tolerate hockey anymore, said too cold to go walking. Maybe I’ll wake him and go to the grocery. He seems to always like that.

Well, I am thinking about a little trip to the US this fall if all is well.
We’ll go to a sunny destination – probably Laughlin again. We found the place to be very friendly, small enough to walk around a bit and relax by their river. Really enjoyed the river day tours last time. Love, love, love shopping in the States – I am a bad Canadian.

First we have to make it thru summer. When I asked Dr. Specialist about flying to Nova Scotia this summer, he saw no problem himself – just have to decide how I think it will work. The flight is the only problem – and that’s a major time factor. If we depart Vancouver, we can get a non-stop direct instead of changing planes in Calgary or Toronto – that would def. help to not scramble to gates.

A bit of good news – my bro phoned today and wants us to visit Vancouver for a week or two. Now that is very much to my liking – I love the city. Both our sons and our lovely daughter in law and many friends are there – we’d be so busy.

We could spend time at the ocean and shop til we drop. Actually, N&D’s place is walking distance to a large shopping center, thank you, thank you!

I have a large garden but my neighbor could eat from it and also, S&R, when they come out to ck the house.

There’s so much we could do being retired – better stop right here with that thought before I get whining about it.

Called our hairdresser for appointments yesterday – she was so happy to hear from us. Told me thought we’d moved or things had deteriorated badly. One out of 2 isn’t such a bad guess:)

She is so sweet and handles him perfectly, very matter of fact attitude and he’s shampooed before he knows it.

I assured her we’d not been anywhere else since our “do’s” last Oct. 30 – while relieved we hadn’t changed stylists, I think she booked extra time! My hair is past my neckline by 6″ and I’m getting it cut quite short.

I’ll kind of miss my Einstein for a few months til his hair grows out – if I’m lucky, will get him to go in time for Santa’s visit.
