Got home about 7pm, checked phone messages. One was to call the neighbor, they have our postal key – found it in our rural post box. Their box is to the immediate right of ours.

Phew, I’ve been searching all his clothes, the car, my bag, etc.

Several years ago, I painted a black mark on our box so he could “find” it. When we pull up, I hand him the key, he gets the mail, hands key back and we’re off. Obviously, yesterday I didn’t reach for the key after he got in the car.

Won’t happen again but kind of scary that the key was in there over 12 hours!
