Got those little clips for notes – if I’m going to the garden, just set it on his place mat – seems he always remembers to check there.
It’s getting more and more difficult to even garden, in case he awakes.
I was shocked to see his difficulty in the tub today. He slipped twice and was very unsteady on his feet (yes, we have a mat). Tomorrow I’ll get a bath seat – that’s going to cause WW6 but he cannot get in and out safely – big shock to me. Also, will check on those sit down bathtubs with the door – that would be best. I could have it installed in the ensuite – I think Home Dep*t handles them now.
After his bath, he looked so absolutely “normal” – healthy, tanned, handsome – looks good in his clothes. I hugged him and kissed the top of his head after we put his golf shirt on. I could cry, it’s so difficult to believe – even for me.
He is starting to sleep more and more – up earlier but pretty much makes up for the time by going to bed after brunch and then up at 5pm and back to bed.
Have thought about getting a live in person in exchange for free board and room. She could basically babysit so I could garden, do light housework and be an extra set of eyes and ears. Our situation is changing and he seems to be not “functioning” as well as a couple weeks ago. If I only knew what and when.

So after our lovely morning, planting session and lunch, I decided we should do our “big grocery run” to the big city:)
Super Store (not my favorite but the deals!) had a deal, buy $250. and get $30. off. I was out of everything as hadn’t done a shopping trip since Christmas so gathered my trusty man and off we go – at 4:30pm! You see, it is less busy around the dinner hour – in theory.
Anyway, what should have taken an hour, took over 2 as I ran into droves of patients – “Patient Office Reunion Day” at SS. I dodged (yes, I admit) a couple of them but the rest were a delight to chat with. I always introduce Wayne and they like to “see Jean’s husband”.
Our trunk and back seat were loaded – I was out of everything. ***Note to son, Mark, after you and Dad teased me about my stockpile of toilet tissue, we almost ran out – so there! Ended up getting 2 orders, so $60. off, $30. Mastercard point credit, $10.00 from coupons – I love that. Next biggie will be for Santa season and folks, that’s just around the corner:)
I even ran into a guy who wants to buy my “hot little Chevy 1/4 ton truck” and I told him has til Monday to decide – getting tough in my old age.
When I have home care, I will use part of one session to grocery shop – it’s too hard on Wayne.
I did read blogs but was too tired to comment – unreal! I hate getting old!!!

So we have a nice day on the go. This morn Brenda needed a ride to the greenhouse – that type of activity is great for Wayne. Actually, I bought quite a few more bedding plants myself.
Then off for groceries at our local “little market” and water bottles to recycling.
This sound so mundane but it’s a very full day for him. He had fun and she is a perfect dear handling him. It was quite cute at the greenhouse. Brenda looked around and asked, “Where’s Wayne?” The cashier said, “Your Dad is by the car.” We both cracked up – even tho age-wise he certainly could be her Dad. Then we’re talking about she and her husband booking a room at Brian’s hotel – I said to just put “aunt” down on the registration. “Aunt!! How about cousin?!” – she is 5 years younger than either of our sons. Ooops:)
He sat outside watching me plant – I really enjoyed that. My vow is “no more plants” but that darn nursery is only 5 minutes away.
I’m going to read blogs and he’s in bed – worn out but I think, content. Hope everyone had a nice day.

Although we knew the days were coming to a close, it still threw me when Mark called and said you had passed on.
You’ll never be forgotten and always loved, a man among men, a giant – heart and soul.
April 26/21 til you departed May 27/05
Forever in our hearts.

He never (well, never used to) gets up in the night to use the toilet. Last night at 1am and 3am, he quietly got up and then closed the ensuite door!!! Due to the fact that I am alert in case he ever decided to take a midnight stroll, I sleep so lightly.
He may as well have played the tuba as close the bath door. When he got up the second time, I suggested he just leave it ajar – “Ok” – close.
Grrr – hopefully it was just a one time thing cause it’s like having a new born for sleep deprivation.
