So, sales people (etc!), tend to knock or ring the doorbell to excess – “once is enough, folks” – being Wayne is sleeping a lot during the day, I put a sign outside – beside the doorbell – requesting they not ring or knock – just leave a note in the basket with their name and phone number and I’ll get back to them. I thanked people at the end of the note and explained that we’re dealing with illness here – no further explanation. (Of course this doesn’t apply to family and friends and they know that)

Being they won’t listen, I have unplugged the door bell but how do you unplug the knockers:)
Sales people continue to knock and when I open the door, they have the gall to say they didn’t see the note – “Really?” One happily pounded away to the tune of shave and a hair cut – two bits. Actually, he was a sweet young man and I really believe he didn’t see the sign as was whistling skyward when I looked out the peep hole.

Today a salesperson knocked (hard) and when opened the door, he started his pitch before I could even step outside. Told me he was updating our (natural) gas contract and to sign here. “Do I look stupid?” He stopped talking, pen in midair. “Sorry, I didn’t see the sign.”

It was humorous in a way because he forgot his pen/contract momentarily. Told him if I weren’t so busy “dealing with illness” I’d call the RCMP on him as he was on the shy side of honest. He fled.

Ah, I guess this was a rant – - -

I’m wondering what really processes in his brain. Yesterday, I set the bath bench in the tub, main bathroom, waiting for a reaction or comment. He walked by the door, glanced in and carried on to the bedroom.

Last evening he used the main and came out, again, no comment. Tonight is bath time and I’m hoping he’ll just “use it” – no comment:)
