He doesn’t want to drink water and is usually dehydrated a bit, I’m sure. I’ve done everything from joking around to lectures – nothing worked. If I took a tumbler to him, he would sip maybe 1 oz. and set it aside.
Today, well, nothing short of genius:) Chose a large, old fashion type glass which holds same amount as the tumbler. “If I give you only 1/2 glass, will you promise to sit there and drink it?”
Success!
I admire your ingenuity and ability to conquer! You’re wonderful.
Good thinking Jean!
Jean, I read last year that almost any clear beverage can substitute for water. If he likes tea, black coffee, clear juice – that would do as well for hydrating.
Is there no end to your creativity? Super solution.
Thank you, All. My problem is, as time goes by, he only has one coffee, won’t drink tea, loves tomato juice, not fond of water. He is only up a few hours a day so I have to “make hay” – he does, for sure, get one glass of milk.I bought apple juice yesterday but he requested tomato!I also try to get cantaloupe and watermelon into him but he is not fond of it anymore.Maybe Nature is doing it’s thing – breaks my heart.
Mrs. Jean- you are so amazing to me!! I am so influenced by your love for your husband. You are always in my thoughts and prayers!!!
Thanks Everyone, and welcome Dawn.
That was definitely an AHAA moment on your part.
Good thinking.
