“Is it hot out”?
“Yup, 34 degrees.”
“That’s hot, right? Do you want to go for a walk?”
“Yes, pretty hot. Do you still want to go for a walk?”
“Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh” – he sounded puzzled
This from a man who would never walk (since diagnosis). The care aides have been taking him and maybe he discovered he likes it! Every day, even every hour is something new.
***The heat must have done me in – I’m sorry how I wrote that original – he asked me if I wanted to go for a walk. Being it was so, so hot, I thought I better at least “warn” him. He still wanted to go and we did.
A nice touch to our walk, we met our lovely neighbor and her faithful dog – so he got a visit with them both.
Being with new people is a good thing. Please don’t send the heat our way! Our high today is 21C and it is raining. This is not a typical S. Ontario summer, but I like it.
I think being with other people, to whom he might feel odd saying no, is a boon for both him and you!
Walks will be good for him no matter who’s idea it is:)
Very warm for you. We’re feeling the heat here too. Saw some guy checking out his watermelons for tomorrow as we drove home from the ranch. They are at peak right now, just in time for the Fourth celebration tomorrow. Stay cool. Love, Annette
It is cool here right now but the *dog days of summer* are predicted to arrive in the next 48 hours.
Not looking forward to that at all.
Good for him to start walking.
Hope that he continues the exercise.
