Bleary eyed and overtired, I got up again when I heard the blind being put up – “What’s the matter, Hon?” He turned to me and said he didn’t know – sirens had been howling all night. He got up each time. I really didn’t hear a siren this time but was whacked from lack of sleep. Accidents, medical emergencies, forest fires?

Our neighbor is a volunteer firefighter and he answered calls all night – the first about 11:30pm.

We live in a very rural area, on top a ridge between 2 lakes, as quiet as can be – usually. We don’t even have street lights – yes, we do have a street:)

Anyway, we have a bedroom downstairs in the far corner of the house, diagonal to where ours is on the main. This morn I made the bed up and we’re sleeping there tonight.

It is so frustrating when sirens wake you up.
In your mind you know that they are being used because there is an emergency but the noise is sometimes so bothersome.
Hope you both have a good night’s sleep tonight.

Jean–your little comment–”yes, we do have a street” got a giggle from me.
So wonderful that your humor prevails, even under stress and lack of sleep.
    Sleep well tonight.

Yes, I smiled when I read that line “yes, we do have a street” as well.

Hope you can sleep better this evening with a little more quiet. It must be generally wonderful to have such a serene place to live. Ours is rather noisy. Prayers for you, this evening. Love, Annette

Ah yes, musical beds. Hubby takes his nap downstairs in our TV room. We have a bed there just for that. Sometimes we both sleep there all night. When he’s too tired to make it upstairs.
