Hugged my sister-in-law and Wayne’s brother goodbye. He told me they are at peace to leave, knowing Wayne is in good hands and cared for so well. Aw, thanks! They are great supporters. Sadly, they live 11 or 12 hours away by car.
The good news is, BIL is returning for a week in the fall to spend time again.
That’s very good – with Alzheimer’s one doesn’t know what a month or week or the next day may bring. It delivered a couple surprises during this visit.
(I’m sure I’ve said it before, but I hate you Alzheimer’s, and some day you will fall.)
Oh, my brother phoned me with name of a new drug used after Aricept so I faxed our lovely and caring specialist. Should get a call this week to see where we are in our journey and if this drug may be one to go to.
Other than that, life is good.
I’m sure that it must be hard to see friends and family go. It’s wonderful that Wayne’s brother is coming again soon to be with you all.
I read your posts and say yes, it was like that with my mother. I would call and tell her I was coming to visit. When I would arrive she would be so shocked and surprised to see me.
I am glad he had a good visit with his brother.
It doesn’t surprise me that they noticed that you are a wonderful caretaker!
You have such a positive attitude…it continues to inspire me.
Take care,
xoxo
I am glad you had some time for a family visit. You have mentioned that not everyone sees what you see–so having others around helps to give you additional “eyes.”
I saw a news excerpt on cutting edge Alheimer treatment, but it referenced a (dot)gov site for the clinical trial. I almost wrote you with the info, but assumed it was only for here in the States. In case you’re wanting to read yet more on the subject, here is the URL: http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=5469940 Wishing you well. Love, A
I am praying that this one will be the one. You need hope. ((hugs))
I wish you and W lots of comings and goings with visits from family. Time does get foggy. You can rest a little with them there…
You need to hear how wonderful you are, Jean. You ARE.
