Our company arrive yesterday, we visited and headed off to bed.
Today, they slipped out to visit people – when they returned, Wayne was sitting in his chair in the living room. As his brother walked in, Wayne was so surprised and said, “When did you get in? Nice to see you.”
Needless to say, a bit of a shocker to all.
His night thrashing has nearly ceased. At first I credited the new bed to a degree but realize he’s been on the new med for 5 weeks – assume that is the reason. Whatever it is, sure is wonderful.
Wayne’s “good” brother and wife phoned last night – they are arriving tonight for a 2 day visit. I say “good” in that he calls Wayne every week and travels 11 hours twice per year to see him.
So, nice to have visitors and very nice for Wayne to have his company for a couple days.
The brother, wife and I all attended school together and have been pals since 1960! Wayne had gradded 2 years a head so I met him after high school.
I stood washing his eye glasses. Said mine needed cleaning, also. When I removed them, told him I could see the block letters on his T-shirt and see a sailboat under them but can’t see what’s under it. (Meaning the words.)
Saw his smile forming, “Probably water, eh?”
He loves his jokes and had to admit, he got me.
He is sleeping better – I’m sure it’s the new bed. The bed we replaced was 18 years old but he loved it. Fussed when I said we should get a new bed.
