He came down the hall, trying to orientate himself and said:
“Somebody wants a drink of water.”
Told him to come to the fridge, “You’re really thirsty, are you?”
“No, not me.” He drank a full glass and went back to bed.
Hoping this isn’t the start of a new phase I’ve read about wherein AD patients loose the words they want.
(It’s a beautiful, sunny day here – temps to be in 30’s)
Maybe he was just making a joke. You take care of yourself. Caregivers tend to overlook their own needs. I know Billy’s Mama did.

It’s so hard when you have to watch their “steps down” or deteriorating condition. It really is heartbreaking and we are helpless to stop this crazy progression of the illness.
I truly feel for you, as we are in the same boat here. Different illness, but same heartbreak.
