So his night thrashing in bed continues – despite the new prescription he’s been on for a month. There was quite a list of side effects and he displayed a couple.
Hoping they have something else to try – Wayne sleeps with his arm bent on his pillow and it’s rather disconcerting when it flings toward me in the night.
He can’t be getting a restful sleep.
I don’t think you need to be worrying about his restful sleep; after all, he’s sleeping a good part of the day, too. So it will add up.
It’s your sleep that may be a concern, though.
You need (I’m dreaming; there may be no such thing) a sleeping pill that allows you to wake up the minute his feet touch the floor. But not before. (Maybe an alarm at the bedroom door?)
Hope you get some help with this.
I echo Wandering Weeta’s concerns–I bet that leaves a tired Jean to take on the day. I’ve gotten an arm in the nose a couple of times myself and it isn’t fun! Does W. take something to sleep? Maybe they have something that would help settle him. Sleep is a precious commodity to stay healthy yourself and they even say it helps to lose weight–(I add for my own reminder) Love, Annette
And neither are you getting a rest. I hope this evens out.
I vote for twin beds and some new medication:)
Have you tried a lavender scent on his pillow?
It is supposed to be very relaxing.

Maybe he’s not sleepy at night because he sleeps a lot in the day and doesn’t do enough to get tired out. I know if I have a long nap in the day I’m awake half the night. I’m wondering if he had a walk or some kind of exercise every day (and less daytime sleeping)if that would tire him enough to get a nights sleep.

Thank you – he is sound asleep when he thrashes and jerks. His limbs and even torso jerk. That’s why I think he so tired as his body has worked all night. The new med seemed to work for a bit, maybe 2 weeks, then it’s as bad or worse.
Maybe a muscle relaxer would be the answer instead of a sleeping pill.
