I opened the fridge for water, he was standing beside me. In order to make him feel helpful, I often ask him to do something easy – water jug in hand, glass on cabinet.
“Would you please pour the water for me?”
He happily did that, put the water back in the fridge. After he closed the door, announced he would like a glass of water, also.
“Where would the best place be to get it?”
Oh, Jean, I can’t imagine how you cope with that. If you don’t get a little short-tempered, you are indeed a saint.
Oh my, bless your heart.
Judy, I am definitely not a saint but I never get short with him – he’s such a wonderful person and has been all our 43 years:)
Hi Beverly – I think this is how he functioned at work when not able to – he worded that so well it surprised me.
Love and hugs
Yes, Jean, I recognize the “covering” questions and statements. My Dad has a bunch of them– his favorite almost identical to the one W used. He is still skillful enough with them that he “fools” a lot of people who don’t know.
I just smile and play along, like he’s asking the most reasonable question in the world, and this makes him happy.
Love, Laura
Laura, you validate me.
oh…..
hugs….
patience….
love……
He is a blessed man to have someone like you to care for him. You may not think what you do is wonderful but those who follow your life on this blog, are awed at how you cope with it all.
How wonderful it is for him to have you beside him on this most difficult journey.
Bless him and you also.
