“Well, that’s the easiest shift I ever put in.”

Our care aide read the whole 4 hours. Wayne is still in bed, sleeping since 3am – we had a difficult night. Anyway, he is much better as far as symptoms due to the cold capsules, I guess.

Chicken soup and roast beef sandwiches are on the menu for tonight when I get him up – if it worked last night, I do it again:)

Thank you, dear people.

After having 2 sips of water in 22 hours, I resorted to desperation and veiled threats. Told him that if he didn’t drink the apple juice or water, off we go to the hospital. Actually, I was really worried. (I kept waking him and he refused – slept the 22 hours)

Talked to Sis who said gotta get him drinking.

So, no apple juice in the house! This in a house with a pantry which could be called the Mini Mart. Phoned my (tomato) neighbor and she brought 2 bottles of apple juice and powder for smoothies to get some nutrition into him. (They had just shopped Cost*o)

S&R shopped for us this morn and brought our groceries out. Couldn’t leave him.

Anyway, after about 8 oz. water, 8 oz. apple juice and a big hug, he announced he’d like his chicken noodle soup now. Yeah, way to recover! As he ate his soup, told him I had a roast beef for sandwiches. He ate one!

Now if we could fix our body thermometers – he’s warm and I’m wearing a set of fleece – and it’s only end of August. It’s going to be a long, long (john) winter:) Temp in our house is 23 or about 76.

I opened the gift bag – inside 3 framed pictures of Wayne and I – taken at a dinner maybe 1992?

He had the 2 extra ones printed and framed for our sons “so they can enjoy a picture of Mom and Dad in happier days”.

The four of us would spend time together, sometimes just coffee and pie at their place, skiing weekends together, New Year’s Eve spent at dinner and a movie, then back to one of our homes for snacks.

Memories. He buried her August 12.

So, tap, tap, tap at the door – we knew it was our neighbor. I love her smiling face.

“Could you lend me a box or bucket for a bit?” Got it for her.

Twenty minutes later, tap, tap, tap – she stood box in hand – offering me tomatoes from our garden.

I’ve been in a funk and she knew – My dear man is so sick with a cold, I’m plain tired and she notices no activity in the garden.

Are there special awards at Heaven’s gate for people so tuned to our hearts?

I couldn’t get on Blogger all day! Blogger is my buddy and he deserted me today. Finally, I was able get on and quickly “ran” thru some of my friends’ blogs. Still working on it.

Did you know blogging was addictive – I could view any other pages but not Blogger. How have you all been, any news, any anything?

Tomorrow is another day and I’ll play catch up – our son, Mark, told me to go to WordPress – yeah, right, Mark. I can barely struggle thru Blogger:)
