Believe that everything happens for a reason.
If you get a chance , TAKE IT!
If it changes your life , LET IT!
Nobody said it would be easy…
They just promised it would be worth it!

Got “the word” today – happy, happy, happy. I will now have another day of home care for us. It is “for us” as the aides help him and visit while giving me time to run around town doing what has to be done.

My sister said she is sure I got the extra day (1) because we need it but also, (2) because I went for several years not asking our provincial health care system for help. I depended on my sis and her husband for help – and help they did and still do.

There is an AD seminar which is from 1pm – 3pm coming up. My MD had his receptionist call me about it. I couldn’t go to the last one so asked S&R if they could help out as it’s not a home care day.
Not easy for them as they have 2 appointments themselves that day. So, I will drop Wayne off at our hospital where my BIL will meet me, he will keep Wayne til Sister is done her appointment. Then she happens to have an appt. at 3pm so they will take him along and I’ll pick him up as soon as I can get to their MD’s after I get out of the seminar. That, my friends, is family helping family. Thanks, S&R!

So, three, not 2 walks yesterday. Late in the day, he decided we should walk by the lake. Good plan, although we had already walked twice around our neighborhood – did I mention very steep hilly roads:)

Today, only one walk – so far.

Last evening, at bedtime, he announced something to the effect that we’re going to have get the toothbrushes sorted out in his bathroom. This has been ongoing for a couple weeks. He has a great power brush (Sonicare) and I put manual brushes in a holder. Put the power brush away and finally got it down to one brush in his holder. Still confused.

It was difficult to see him uncap the toothpaste and go to start brushing with the tube – I wet his brush and he couldn’t understand to put the paste on the brush – kept trying to use paste as a brush.

It’s a fine line to offer to brush his teeth for him as he still is proud – but he agreed, “this once”. I’m hoping he will let me, once a day done well, will suffice – right Angie?

And so the story goes – - -
