So the Farmers Almanac predicts a long, very cold (-40) winter for most of Canada. I think it will be a long, long winter for me – our thermostats are already crazy – meaning opposite. He’s hot and I’m wearing a long sleeved fleece top, enjoying the heat from the laptop.
We had a great BBQ at S&R’s tonight, got home and he seemed stressed and didn’t know what he wanted – til he strolled down the hall, topless. That scenario is not him.
A concern I do have, he is very thirsty and with no prompting from me, has had a lot of water tonight. Tomorrow, I will try, once again, to get him to the lab with the now wrinkled up lab slip our Doc gave us a month ago. (Patience is a virtue, so they say.)
Wayne’s brother arrives tomorrow evening for a few days – much appreciated by both of us. I greedily look forward to an extra set of eyes and ears and some time to myself. Also, I will sleep so well and get to garden without worry of his getting into trouble.
There is one victory which is so wonderful. The week I was sick, told him he had to sit on the bath stool – period. I was so weak and thought I’d end up in the tub with him if I leaned over. Anyway, without mentioning it, I now just have him sit on it. So much easier. Bathing is for me, the most exhausting chore as it’s wheeling and dealing game from start to finish.
In a few more months, I think I’ll see if the aides can bathe him. He may not protest if I’m out and they just say, “Bath time.” Cross your fingers for me.
Hope all of you are well and had a nice weekend. I appreciate you so much – and I hope my posts are not too depressing. Could always be worse – - -
