Got home from my 4 hour home care break to find him in way better spirits than the last couple times. I am definitely not blaming the aides at all, but the aide today is “an old girl” and he is so comfy with her. She is the one who noticed I was “haggard” and suggested an extra day of care to the RN – which I got immediately. (We mature ones know the ropes, right?)

They made it a private joke to see if I’d noticed he was clean – shaven. I didn’t! Get so used to his not being, that suppose I no longer look. That is one thing I won’t battle over unless it’s really important – like going out somewhere. Anyway, she made points with him there. Also, she cleaned his razor – I have a heck of a time and have parts all over – looks like a jigsaw on the vanity.

I shopped – stopped at 4 stores and bought clothing items for both of us. Have to go like a whirlwind to get thru the lineups in time to leave town at 2pm. Thank goodness I have lots of shopping practice!

I did not think of head phones – forest for the trees? I even set blankets at the bedroom door, on the floor, to try to block out the vacuum’s noise. It’s BI so not too noisy but still upsets him.
