We have 2 cats that sleep on the bed with us but not under the covers, thank goodness. Our older cat keeps trying to sleep right on the pillows so I have to keep chasing her down at least halfway on the bed because I sure don't appreciate cat hair up my nose! Happy Thanksgiving, I'll be cooking turkey tomorrow..
Mandy

Judy, I'd banish them, too!
Thanks, Wendy, another "nay" vote.
Donna, you are correct, Buddy does sense things have changed, he is confused.People notice it when they come to visit, even.
Beverly, never worry about comments, etc. I feel so for you as I still have my guy.
Mary, I'm laughing as I read your comment. So far all Buddy does is snore and grunts!

Well I'm sure glad Donna spoke up on behalf of Buddy! Having pets in the bed is not everyone's cuppa tea, but I have two Boston Terriers UNDER THE COVERS. I don't mind because they are good sleepers although they tend to snore and fart alot.

I'm with KG Mom. Our cat loved my husband, and he loved her. When Don died, I truly believe that the cat mourned in her own way. She would come to the bedroom and jump up on the bed. Finally she would find her way under the covers, and I let her stay there. She would look up at me with her big eyes, and I would pet her.

I'm sorry I've not been around. As I read your posts, I grieve with you, Jean. I'm so grateful that you have those who come here and comment who understand what it is that you're experiencing.

If Buddy lives inside, then he won't contaminate you in any way--just responding to another commenter who talked about fleas.

OK--here's my take. I am on Buddy's side. You mentioned in an earlier post that Buddy was moping around. He senses the condition of W, and knows things are not the same. Maybe that's why he crawled under the covers--for comfort and love.

Maybe you can tell that I have a favorite cat who loves to crawl under the covers with me. Then he just purrs and purrs. I allow him to do this as he is old now, and his joints clearly ache. So, he warms up and purrs.

Now I don't mind a cat sleeping at the end of my bed, especially when it's a coooold winter's night. BUT certainly NOT under the covers.
I'm with you Jean.

My cats used to sleep on my bed until they got fleas this summer, so now they are banished to the garage or to the kitchen most nights. I finally realized that I sleep better alone!

Yeah, 2 more votes on my side - not that I can smirk and tell him:) the cat was his lifeline when 1st off work and he adores it. Over feeds it, allows it to beg(unless I'm around), etc.

None of our cats are allowed in the house, much less our bed. Our dog Slim would not dare venture across the threshold of our bedroom. I love to hold and cuddle our pets but I do not want to sleep with them.

I'm with you. Animals do not belong under the covers and for me they don't even belong on the bed. Praying you both had a good day.
