Been thinking deeply about our lot. We never, ever felt “God gave us this disease” – just as we don’t believe it’s His will for children, etc. to die. He allows sorrow and could change or reverse it. That’s our belief -we have quietly accepted and lived it.
Years ago I’d pray for the “Ability, Courage, Strength and Wisdom” to do what was best in whatever situation we were dealing with. Still do. That seems to cover the bases. I remembered it alphabetically so I wouldn’t miss one – kind of silly but that’s how I memorize stuff.
I kind of like the fact there are up to seven “chances” to win the series – but, you could win after four.
It’s all in the details, a dropped ball, a strike out or base on balls. A home run to seal the fate of the winning or losing team – depends which team you’re on.
I guess what I’m thinking is that someone has to lose, you play til someone wins – the innings go on. Each team gets the same number of “chances” to win. Both sides are basically equal to have reached the finals but someone will win and thus someone will lose. That’s guaranteed. Those are the rules.
Not complaining, but in the game of Life, I guess we lost in game 7.
Hhmmm-an interesting perspective. I think I would differ in one regard–I don’t think life is a zero sum game–that for each winner there is a loser.
I think I tend to see it as more cyclical–rather as did people in the Middle Ages. They talked about the wheel of fortune–it can raise you or lower you–no predicting what will happen. I think they were also much more resigned to their fates.
We tend not to be resigned.
I continue to marvel at your grace–your prayers for ability, courage, strength and wisdom must have been answered!
