Poor Buddy, even he is stressed out it seems. The cat stays on the bed with him for hours, finally gets up and sits in the hall – facing the bedroom. When he moves in bed, the cat “goes on alert” – and it’s not to be fed as he never gets fed upon Wayne’s rising.
The past few times that care aides are here, they report that Buddy goes to the bedroom and doesn’t come out til I get home. Usually, he acts like a dog and sits or lies by Wayne’s feet when Wayne is up. I think he’s tired, too, or knows he can leave him to the care of the aides.
All day long, he paces from the kitchen, down the hall to the bedroom. It gets I don’t even notice it but our guests sure do. Walk on, Buddy, we have a long journey to go yet.
I think yoy’re right.
Buddy senses that when the aides are there that he can relax.
(Just like YOU should be.)

Animals are so intuitive–they know, they just know.
It is good that W has Buddy–and good that Buddy has you to care for him too. The tough thing is that cats CHOOSE their people–not people choose cats.
It is amazing how intuitive animals are. Buddy knows he should be up in the daytime, and is wondering about him…
Man’s best friend. Still true these days.
It always amazes me how animals know our own hearts. That cat you’re not so fond of really is a good kitty.
Love, A
I think Buddy is as worried about you as he is about Wayne; witness the pacing, kitchen to bedroom and back.
I’m glad you said, “we”. (Walk on, Buddy, we have a long journey to go yet.) I think you’re going to find that he is an ally and a comfort to you.
Cats and dogs KNOW! My dogs learned to be patient for eight long weeks while I was on crutches after surgery. Stood by me. They could have used a chill pill, just like Buddy. What a great cat and good friend.
