So one room (our bedroom) is sparkled up for Christmas and heaven help anyone who does anything to it!!! (Place hysterical laughter here)
I even washed light fixtures and all the hung pictures.
Actually, this supreme effort began when I decided I could no longer look at the stacks of paper back novels on the cocktail table. We hauled them all to the shelves and I asked if he would keep just 2 or 3 out til Christmas is over. Happy to comply.
An hour later, a big black cloud appeared over his head. He was surveying his world and decided he didn’t like the new (neat) arrangements. “What did you do with my stuff?” Showed him the books but the cloud dropped lower overhead. I should have known better than to disturb his world.
So, now we have many, many books back on the cocktail table, he’s content, I’m not and I want to run away.
The three of us were on the bed watching hockey, yes, the cat does like hockey:) Anyway, all during the day, Wayne will get up and wander thru the lower level, usually looking for his office and his books.
Buddy usually waddles after him but some days he is lazy and stays on the bed – but he sits up, alert and listening to Wayne’s footsteps. If he goes into the bathroom down there, Buddy relaxes and resumes his snooze – but if he hears Wayne make a turn to another area, his ears move and he turns and looks at me as if to warn me to go help out.
This little ball of fat is worth his weight in gold.
With gentle nudges and prods, the Spirit of Christmas is edging me closer – getting in the mood to decorate and (horrors!) even bake. When MiHwa called the other day, she asked if we could make cookies, chocolate chip cookies! I’ll let her in on the wonderful surprise of CC cookies and cold milk once we bake them – or vanilla ice cream softened over fudge brownies!
After all my intentions of making it the “best Christmas ever”, I seem to be deliberately defeating my plans – until today. So, off the computer for a bit while I start on the bedrooms. If I decorate them first, it gets done, otherwise may cop out.
The sun is shining, literally and figuratively today in our little spot.
