Slip sliding away – I “catch him” as he comes down the hall – wash his eye glasses while he does his face. Since M&M left, he has not wanted to wash his face – he agrees to the cleaning of his glasses. Yesterday he actually refused to wash, today he protested but I somehow “won”.

If this goes on, he may have to be tended by professionals. I can’t have him unwashed.

As I type this, I’m working on the bath time strategy for tonight – bless his heart. The RN wrote a note for him to bathe on certain days, penned in her direct line if he needed to talk it over. I show it to him and say he can phone if he disagrees – his comment is always the same, “Is Liz coming to visit?”

How can you deal with that? I usually laugh and tell him,”No, she’s sending Princess Anne.”
Anyway – it’s bath night – wish me luck!

Good luck, Jean! Hopefully it won’t be too much of a struggle this time!

Unfortunately that is part of the progress (?) of this disease. I hate it for both of you.

I do want to wish you a Happy New Year – although it seems like an oxymoron.

So I hope you some happy times. . .

I guess, just one moment at a time…try not to worry too much ahead of time. The difficulty may make it less painful to know he will have professional care when the time comes. Seems like an insensitive thing to say. I pray you don’ think so, since you talk so practically about it. Saying prayers for you as it gets dark here. Have a glass of wine or something festive tonight and know there is someone in Texas joining you, saying a toast for your strength and joy amid difficult circumstances. Love, Annette

My heart just breaks for all you go through. Your spirit must be incredible as you carry on in this sad, sad, journey. Your noble efforts will be rewarded in heaven.
Memories will give you happier days back, and hope will give you happier days in the future.
The present is something to endure, enjoy and survive all in one.
Happy, happy New Year….treat yourself the best you can.

Wishing you a Happy New Year. It is a good thing we do not know what it will bring;- happiness, sadness, joy, or sorrow. It will likely be a combination of all, to be faced with faith, hope and the love of those dear to us.
    Wishing you only the best!

Hope all went well with the bath.
No wonder you are tense and exhausted.
