2009
I did cartwheels down the hall, “I won, I won!” Bath night was Dec. 30 and I only succeeded tonight.
It reminded me of the quote about not mattering if you won or lost but how you played the game – I had to be Wiley Coyote tonight – but I won!
When the home care RN calls re: respite I will now ask her to have the aides bathe him. Back in June 2008, I thought he’d be upset enough to be left in their care. (He wasn’t)
Bathing him is the most stressful thing I do as a care giver: I cajole, reason, joke, make deals, “I’ll bathe first, then you.” In the end, it’s too much – so let the pros handle it.
But who cares, tonight I won!
