He slept for 22 hours – I did try to get him up from around 2:30pm – he asked to sleep a bit longer each time.

At 6:30pm, I went in and said, “It’s time to get up.” His response? “I’d be happy to.”

Anyway, we headed for bed about 10:30pm and finally 4:30am we must have crashed. He kept sitting up, looking at the cat on the towel and commenting, “Buddy can’t sleep.”

Each time Wayne said that, the cat would raise his head and look at us.

Finally, the cat said, “You’ve got that right, Buster, you keep waking me!”

I had to be up on time for home care today, feel like a need just a wee bit more sleep!!!

Chef is coming home – big yeah! Plus, it’s Chef’s birthday tomorrow – here’s to one of the best. We love you so much.

Wayne said, “I’ll hand the phone to JEAN!!!”

Now, I realize capitals represent shouting but I couldn’t resist – I’d shout it from the roof tops. He hasn’t uttered my name in so long that I can’t remember.

He has always loved Readers Dige*t and has subscribed since the 60′s! Anyway, I noticed he isn’t paying much attention to his novels this past week. Suggested he go to his office and grab some Digests for a change.

“Digests? Ok, but can you help me find them?”

This surprised me in that he knew help was needed. Each day brings a new something. But he’s happy and healthy physically so we have lots to be grateful for.

Pressed the last label on. It’s very weird to be organizing his clothes for respite. There a certain feeling of “the end of the story”.

I put each shirt with the proper T-shirt, socks and shorts. I’ve always tried to keep him looking the best that I can. Everything will be on hangers so the nurses can just grab any set each morning.

Just know my tummy would be flip flopping now if it weren’t for Doc’s magic pen. Praying all will go well when they finally tell me it’s time.

***Respite is only for a week so hopefully he will not be too upset when the time comes – time means nothing now but separation does.

So, always something new:) For the 19 years we’ve been here, he has always sat in the same spot. Tonight, for dinner, he sat in my place.

I brought his plate to the table and he rose ever so slightly, then sat down again.
Sat at his place and he kind of looked at me like a “what are you doing” look but I carried on eating.

I have no explanation – maybe he does but didn’t share:)
