I was emptying the DW, he removed the silverware basket and set it on the counter top.
There were very few pieces so I pulled the drawer open for him.

Thankfully, pieces of flatware lay in their proper spots, “he can follow that.”

It was shocking to see him struggle to find the fork “compartment” and then set the fork in upside down or backwards. This continued until he completed his task. I could tell he really wanted to do it . The depth of decline so terrible to watch.

Last night, S&R sat with him so I could attend a concert. He was agitated most if the evening.

After I got home, I sat by him on the sofa, took his hand in mine, and talked.

He said, “You haven’t held my hand in such a long time” in a very child like tone – a child missing his mother tone.

(We sit like this a lot as he wants me beside him and it seems to comfort him if I hold his hand.)
