I can never “get” him with humor – he’s always one up on me.
Yesterday was incredibly bright, sun on new fallen snow. As we were ready to back out of the drive, I mentioned he could wear his sunglasses, pointing to them in the glove box.
Thanking me, he replied something to the effect he would just close his eyes.
“Me, too!” He at first said, “Hey, hey, hey. You’re the driver!” Then he got it and laughed and laughed.
Thru all our journey, he has maintained his sense of humor.
Every moment that you write about is so filled with poignancy and emotion….even the simplest ones.

Awww- yes, It’s good to enjoy the little things.
That is such a blessing.
You write these vignettes so well, Jean. Missed your blogging when you were away from it for the week.
That was a good one! I’m glad that *both* of you have maintained a sense of humor!
Through the clinging, the fright, constant reminders, etc., he still makes you laugh. Life is good, Jean.
Laughter is good for the soul. What a blessing that you shared od laugh. Sweet music to your ears I am sure.
How wonderful that is, and I expect that makes the journey easier.
What a delight, for both of you, to experience that!
Laughing together is a treasure you should never lose.
