We’re walking 3 times a day now – it’s a 15 minute walk. Well, the first two are, by #3 it’s 20 minutes.
Anyway, still chilly and brisk winds – enough I need a scarf.
He is totally happy discussing all the aircraft which fly over our walking route. When a Comanche or some other one flies by, he really makes comments. He used to take a 4 seater to fly us around when the boys were younger.
Found one log book and think I’ll have it framed. Also, found his first private pilot license – it’s tattered around the edges but that adds to its charm – for me anyway.
His office shelves are full of flying books. Not sure they are of value to anyone unless sons want them cause they are Dad’s. Peeked thru some and it’s all Greek to me – I never could understand the tower chatter – they spoke so quickly.
We had one near miss and I sure understood the tower that time, my tummy did, too. Anyway, the tower had cleared us for take off – we would have been caught in the vortex of a landing jet. Goodbye us if that would have happened.
Today I bought 3 woven baskets – Buddy “gets” the largest one – they voted and it was 2 – 1, naturally I lost.
I get the smallest and Wayne has a mid-size. When he is admitted, I will put some of his books, magazines and personal items in the basket to make him feel at home.
Today we entered the care home via the main entrance.
“This is my home.” He said it how little kids will emphasize, “This is my Mommy.”
I replied that it sure is and every one is so nice. He agreed and happily followed me to the office and nursing station in a vain attempt to find his health care card, missing toque and 2 missing laundry bags. (I guess this is a lesson of what is to come and yes, all were labeled.)
Anyway, I found his statement very touching and sweet. Maybe that will ease things a bit – and this was after the medical visit so he was in good form.
Snow job, fudge the truth, stretch the truth, white lies – I use them all to get done what has to be done.
Today, we have appointment with Family Clinic for blood/urinalysis orders. Our (precious) MD is on holiday so His Nibs will see a locum, to go into the op, sit there and let her check his BP and write the orders.
I’m hoping this will all pan out Ok.
Slipped this morn and said we have to get up and at it for the appointment.
“Appointment, what appointment??? Not for me. Not me.” Sigh – - – (Pls cross your fingers:)
So our sons are supportive of the Master plan for the next few months.
They live 4 hours away from us so I update them via email and phone calls. Then Mark and MiHwa go over everything with Brian. Then they email me back. I received “The” email today and was so relieved.
It’s a difficult scenario we are dealing with and I appreciate their support.
Have to say I really appreciate your support, also.
