Him: “Yup, both of them.”

Visit Family/Friends out of town
He slept 8 hours last evening, had coffee session out today, back to bed. No lunch and no interest in getting up when I asked.
We see his specialist soon in a few days. Maybe he will wave a magic wand and make it all better.
***Update or “downdate”; he ate dinner and is back in bed.
If you know a family dealing with AD or any other challenge, offer the little things.
Today, a long time friend took him out to meet friends – they had coffee and returned maybe 45 minutes later.
I had big plans to vacuum -didn’t. Some work got done but I just sat in my chair for most of it and relaxed.
The gift of time – alone – is one of the best. Thanks, B.
Held my breath as I parked – “Ok, Hon, let’s go in.”
He was not impressed. Although I tell him about things/events, they are immediately gone.
The care aide who welcomed us was really cheery and kind. He didn’t want to stay, wanted to go with me. Finally, she motioned for me to leave. I just hated leaving him.
At 2pm, I crept in quietly and sat in the hall. He didn’t see me. What a relief to hear him laughing and making comments. The wrap up is between 2:15 and 2:30 so I went in at 2:15pm.
As we were leaving, told him that I had arrived a few minutes earlier but had to “take my shoes off.”
He burst out laughing, “I wish you had rescued me earlier.”
This is weekly so I’m hoping he will enjoy the friendship. As he left, he patted a fellow on the shoulder and said he’d see him next time. Fingers crossed:)
