Yeah, your eyes aren’t deceiving you, we dined on pizza for Easter dinner. While we were eating our “feast”, I thought how the sons would have loved that when they were little.

“Sure, Sons, then Pizza it is. I didn’t want  to bake a ham, anyway.”

“Mom, you’re the best.” (Childhood dreaming)

Anyway, we voted, kind of.  Just feel whatever floats his boat is best. He asks for little and has a difficult road to walk. Actually, jokingly, I asked if he wanted ham, mashed potatoes, etc. or pizza for dinner. His eyes light up at the mention of pizza so pizza it was.

No, we didn’t have company:) After we were pizza’d out we walked for half an hour only to be challenged by 2 huskies. The lady assured us they are sweet and wonderful – tell that to someone who cares, Ma’am, or maybe to our son who was ravaged by a sweet dog, knee still numb after 11 years. Actually, I bit my tongue and let her prattle on and on about their merits while one growled menacingly as it walked toward us.

Finally, I had to ask her to hold the dogs (so we could pass by) or take them in the house. Reluctantly, she held her “sweet” dogs. We do the loop twice and guess who we encounter again! Dogs loose, again!

I wasn’t rude, but told her I expect her 2 dogs to be on leashes and restrained.  We walk this route several times a day.

In return I got a blank stare which notes her mentality in regard to the law, people or the chance of her dogs biting someone. Gotta go, looking up Dog Control number to make a report. They frown on that type of behavior and will speak to her.

Good for you Jean…doggone it anyway…people need to THINK about other folks! Rules are made for a reason.
Pizza on Easter sounds great! We had leftovers, and split, fried hotdog sandwiches after working outside all day!
    Ha!

We have always had non-traditional holidays – now that is a tradition for us! Hope your day was a nice one.

I am sure most kids everywhere in North America would vote PIZZA!
Too bad about the dogs whose human doesn’t behave.
Even though I think our dog is friendly, I ALWAYS have her leashed when outside–she has enough chasing genes in her!

We kind of did the same thing. Since no kids were here, we went to church, then out to eat. It was a welcomed change. I asked, too. (wink, wink) I said, “Mike do you want me to cook Easter dinner?” He said, “Sure.” I said, “Let me rephrase that: Do you mind if I don’t cook Easter dinner?” We took his parents to a nice place and had a good time.
Sorry to hear about the dog problem. People never think their precious doggies would bite. And they wouldn’t them. But strangers and territorial animals are not a good combination.

Too bad about the dogs. We also have dog control here. People aren’t allow to just let their dogs run around loose.

We also had pizza for Easter dinner. A couple of years ago, I decided I’d stop cooking Easter dinner. It was enough to do turkies at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Nobody likes ham or lamb and I used to cook turkey when the children were small, but now enough is enough. We gathered at my daughter’s house (hubby stays home), and ordered 4 large pizzas! Somebody brought desserts and my daughter had put out vegetables and dip.
Now it’s a tradition – nobody cooks, we order pizza for Easter!

Dogs need to be on leashes, especially larger ones who could scare of hurt someone. I find nothing wrong in what you said, since you weren’t rude. Hopefully, these people will think twice before heading out on the town with their pets.

Pizza for Easter dinner? My kids would’ve loved to join you! :)

I cooked a huge dinner, as you know, and I really wish we could have just ordered pizza. Hope that woman will curb the dogs for you.

Did I ever tell you I am scared to death of dogs (and my husband is a vet)? Yes, I agree… Dogs should be on leashes. If you want, I can send you some ham. We have tons of left-overs and I’m already sick of it! Everyone says I should make soup. Nope, that’s not me. My husband would have chosen pizza over our Easter dinner any day of the week (or holiday)! :) Hope your day was nice!
    Love you,
    Angie xoxo

Nothing makes me madder than menacing dogs whose owners think it’s o.k. and therefore you should think it’s o.k. to get barked and snarled at while you try to walk by. We’ve got a neighbor who sits on his porch and yells at his dogs as they run at us snapping and snarling……but he lets them do that over and over. We’ve finally started walking the other direction because of them. I’d like to drive by and hit them with my car……just enough to make them scared to run out into the road. grrrr….
