“Hi, Jean, it’s T.”
I was so happy to hear her voice . Had been hoping I could talk to her but she’s so busy I didn’t want to call her. She is the RN who cares for Wayne, in person, by phone, by intervention and home visits.
Although calling for a totally different reason, I told her about our past few days. She told me her RN partner had just filled an “emergency bed” at the facility of our choice – she would have admitted W for evaluation.
Also, I was told to call our specialist to update him. His receptionist is so great – Dr. was out but he’d call tomorrow unless you need a call back today. No, no, no – no emergency. Everyone has been so wonderful to us.
So, til tomorrow, I will wait and worry. They may not get a temporary emergency bed for some time but at least I know he will be checked out.
Somehow, I feel compelled to post pictures of Wayne so you have a face for the name:)
I work on a wonderful unit where people with AD and other dementias are admitted and assessed for 30 days by a multidisciplinary team. Sometimes the assessment makes a real difference for the patient and family. I wonder if there are similar programs in your area?
How beautiful that the Lord has gone before you and had the nurse call just when you needed her. There will be a bed just when you need it, I truly think that will happen. Blessings on your day. May it be smoother than the past few days have been. Prayers and hugs..Mary Lou
Will pray for an eval soon!
I love the picture of Wayne and Buddy in your previous post. The evaluation is a good idea and hopefully will come soon. Lifting you in prayer this afternoon. Love, Annette
Whew … even tho’ you’ve no guarantees, I imagine it’s some relief to realize those you Trust are taking steps to help.
Thanks for posting the photo. What can one say about that sweet, sweet smile? Nothing to say …but just smile back at the monitor!
Hope the evaluation goes well. I don’t know much about this, but I can imagine it is a step in the right direction.
Hugs
Jean, I am glad that a complete updated evaluation for Wayne is in the works. I hope the new information will give you an effective plan of action.
Now here’s the “nag” part–you should call the nurse ANY time you have concerns. You are caring for an AD patient ALONE in your home–what’s more difficult than that?? Really, what scenario is more complicated?? So call, call, call. End of “nag.”
:)
Praying for you and Wayne.
Love, Laura
He’s still handsome, and Buddy is a beauty – I love his tail!
And I also meant to say, I hope the evaluation can be done soon.
