He was really very stressed to be dropped at adult day care. It’s easier to just stay home – for me.

About an hour later, his RN phoned to say he’s having a great time. (Bless your soul or wring your neck, my dear, for stressing me out so much)

He has been assigned an aide ( one on one) for 4 hours as he always wants to leave and “go walking”. When I picked Wayne up, the aide told me that Wayne loved all the physical games, even played bingo – and won! He doesn’t initiate conversation but will chat if spoken to.

Initially, I really resisted  “wasting” the money on the cost of a care aide but they said it’s to give me a break and keep him and me home longer.

The RN told me that her job was to aid me in keeping Wayne home as long as is possible. That has always been my goal so we’re on the same page – but it does get more and more difficult.
