Yesterday it was 32 degrees. We spent part of our day just cruising around to different stores. On our way home we passed a barbershop – the light bulb came on. I wheeled into the little shop – it was empty! Luck. Ran in and told him Wayne has Alzheimer’s and is pleasant but just talk to him, no questions – and talk he did!
Sweetest guy, about 40 years old (just a kid). Shampoo and cut, neck massage, head and shoulders vacuumed after wards! I think I’ll go there:)
He has designed an old fashioned shop and glad to hear he is busy. Guys can get a shave and be pampered. I was really surprised to see a young fellow about 14 arrive with his Mom. His hair looked “cop short” to me but his Mom’s was long and wild. Maybe she was coming for a trim:)
Just another angel in our lives.
(We used to book an appt. and see a lovely gal who cut hair in her home. It just is better to catch him spur of the moment on a good day)
Spur of the moment haircuts work for me too.
I never make appointments ahead, then call and try to get in when my waves threaten to take over my head!
Isn’t it wonderful to meet young adults who understand and have compassion? They perhaps have been through some deep waters that we know nothing about.
